The Story
The adventure began in February 2025, when we were invited by Antoine Manier to take part in a creative residency as part of the 2025 Video Mapping Festival, organized by Les Rencontres Audiovisuelles.
A great opportunity to which we immediately said yes!
The residency took place in April at Arenberg Creative Mine. On-site, we launched the pre-production phase: visual creation, animation, plastic design… An intense and collaborative process, carried out with the precious support of Patrick Grandi, an experienced mapping artist, who guided us every step of the way.
The Challenge
We also had the pleasure of collaborating with Virgile Guiost Flore for the musical composition, and Arnaud Fouriau, who enhanced our projection with an impressive pyrotechnic intervention.
We provided Virgile with an initial direction based on assets and rock/electro tracks. He quickly found the path we wanted to take, and the creative process turned out to be very smooth.
Arnaud came in later, and his pyrotechnic design was mainly about adapting to the media we had created.
The WAAAW Effect
The highlight of the project took place on Saturday, June 14: our creation was unveiled exclusively on the façade of the Moulin à Café Theater (MAC) in Saint-Omer, France.
A memorable evening, carried by an incredible atmosphere, flawless organization by the City of Saint-Omer, and enthusiastic feedback from the audience… echoed in the local press and, of course, on social media.
