The Story
As part of a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of carbohydrates in sports, Decathlon, in collaboration with Eye Motion, entrusted us with the production of an explanatory animated video.
The brief: convey complex scientific concepts lightly, while addressing a wide audience.
The visual universe had to recall the codes of educational cartoons while remaining dynamic and modern, to capture attention from the very first seconds.

The Challenge
Not easy to make digestible (no pun intended) notions such as the difference between carbohydrates, fats, proteins, or the way they are absorbed by our body.
To make everything more concrete and engaging, we created a main character — a young athlete — who goes through different sporting situations, while the voice-over explains with clarity and energy what is happening in his body.
Visually, everything was designed to be fun, legible and educational: bright colors, fluid animations, simple visual metaphors… like an animated biology lesson, with the WAAAW twist.

The WAAAW Effect
The result: a dynamic and educational video, designed to speak to all audiences, from casual athletes to high school students.
Broadcast on Decathlon’s YouTube channel, the video was widely viewed and received excellent feedback, including a comment we could almost frame:
“Excellent explanatory video! I hope it’s the first of a long series! As a PE teacher, it’s the perfect format to show my students 💪”
We couldn’t have dreamed of better validation.

A clear, fun and effective motion design to make sports science accessible to all. Thank you WAAAW for this flawless animated pedagogy.
