The Story
To mark the inauguration of its new building, EPICURA, a Belgian hospital network, wanted to organize a unifying event in Ath, anchored in the territory and its collective imagination.
In collaboration with Nouvelle Dimension, in charge of organizing the event, we developed the artistic direction of the entire project and designed a film projected onto the façade of the building, paying tribute to all those who bring the hospital to life every day.
The starting point: Ath’s folklore and its gallery of legendary giants, revisited to embody the heroes of the various hospital professions.
The Challenge
How to evoke strong human values (commitment, care, solidarity) through a fantastic imagination without being childish?
We worked on an original character design, with an epic but accessible treatment, mixing local legends and hospital reality.
Each figure illustrating a profession: doctors, nurses, technicians, IT specialists… All integrated into a fluid scenario supported by strong visual narration.
In parallel, we produced the complete visual design of the event:
- Staging for the speech space.
- Monumental projection on the building.
All accompanied by an acrobatic show, a light show (produced by the lighting team of the Avengers show at Disneyland Paris), and a final firework display (produced by Fétin’celles).
The WAAAW Effect
An event with high symbolic significance, both spectacular and deeply human.
The public, the hospital teams and the officials present praised the quality of the project, which was able to combine local roots with a contemporary tribute.
All with respect, imagination and emotion.
