The Story
It all began in February 2025, when Antoine Manier invited us to take part in a creative residency as part of the Video Mapping Festival, organised by Les Rencontres Audiovisuelles.
An offer we simply couldn’t refuse!
In April, we headed to Arenberg Creative Mine in northern France for a residency dedicated to creating a video mapping show for the façade of Le Moulin à Café theatre in Saint-Omer.
There, we began exploring visual concepts, experimenting with graphic styles and developing animations, with the ambition of creating an experience that would interact with the building’s architecture.
This creative journey unfolded alongside Patrick Grandi, an artist specialising in video mapping, whose guidance helped shape the different stages of the creative process.
An intense, collaborative and particularly inspiring residency, where ideas gradually took shape and evolved into a show designed for the general public.

The Challenge
Creating a show where visuals, music and stage effects become one.
Beyond producing the architectural video mapping sequences, the project relied on close collaboration between several artistic disciplines.
For the soundtrack, we worked with Virgile Guiost Flore, who was responsible for composing the original music.
We shared our initial creative intentions with him, along with visual and musical references inspired by rock and electronic music. A shared artistic direction quickly emerged, allowing us to establish a seamless dialogue between musical rhythm, animation and visual storytelling.
Another spectacular dimension came from Arnaud Fouriau, who was responsible for the pyrotechnic design.
Introduced at a later stage, his contribution was conceived to complement and extend the visual sequences already developed, adding a physical dimension to the performance.
Our challenge was therefore to design visual animations tailored to the theatre’s façade while maintaining artistic consistency with the musical composition and pyrotechnic effects.
A genuine team effort, where every discipline contributes to a single spectacular experience.

The WAAAW Effect
On 14 June 2025, it was showtime!
Our creation was unveiled on the façade of Le Moulin à Café theatre (MAC) in Saint-Omer as part of the Video Mapping Festival.
The building was transformed into a monumental stage, where projected animations interacted with the original music and pyrotechnic effects.
A collective experience bringing together digital creativity, live performance and architecture, all in a particularly enthusiastic atmosphere.
The event, organised with the support of the City of Saint-Omer, also received coverage in the local press and on social media.
But beyond the performance itself, what we’ll remember most is an incredible human and artistic adventure, filled with encounters, experimentation and inspiring collaborations.
A theatre, pixels, rock music and a few sparks: the WAAAW effect was definitely there!
