Niger - Gamkallay

It’s always a pleasure when a former client gets back in touch, especially with a project as ambitious as this one!

This time, we’re heading to Niamey, Niger, to bring a major urban development programme led by the Ministry of Public Works to life through visuals.

At the heart of the project: the 2.7-kilometre Gamkallay riverside road, the final key component of a larger interchange development programme designed to improve mobility and ease traffic congestion.

But the ambition goes far beyond road traffic. The new developments also aim to enhance the banks of the Niger River and improve the quality of life for local residents.

Our role? To visualise this future development before construction begins, transforming technical information into an engaging and easy-to-understand visual presentation.

How do you tell the story of 2.7 kilometres of infrastructure without losing your audience along the way?

Presenting an urban development project can quickly become complex, or even overly technical. We therefore had to strike the right balance between accurate information, realistic visualisation and clear storytelling.

We developed a 3D visualisation allowing viewers to explore the future route of the riverside road and discover its main features.

The video notably showcases:

• The entire route of the riverside road, illustrating the overall layout of the project and how it integrates into the urban environment.
• Developments along the Niger River, including quays, steps and a fitness trail.
• Traffic and new mobility flows, represented through vehicle animations to illustrate the expected benefits of the project.

By combining 3D modelling, animation and visual storytelling, we transformed urban planning data into an accessible visual narrative without compromising the accuracy required to present the project.

The objective wasn’t simply to show a road, but to tell the story of a neighbourhood’s transformation and how people will use it.

The video offers a glimpse of the future Gamkallay riverside road, helping viewers understand the planned developments and visualise their potential impact on mobility and public spaces.

By combining an overall view, detailed representations of the planned developments and traffic animations, we made a complex infrastructure project easier to understand.

Beyond plans and technical documents, this production provides a tangible representation of the changes envisioned for the people of Niamey.

Because an infrastructure project isn’t just about kilometres of road: it’s also about imagining a new way of experiencing the city.

And that’s a WAAAW effect that goes far beyond the screen!
